Top Recipes & Dining experiences in Singapore, Q1 2025

A round up of the stand-out food we ate in Q1 of the year. March came so swiftly, I’m sure many of you feel the same way! Since Q1 hasn’t ended yet, I’ll continue to add to this list if there’s anything fitting. Otherwise, here’s what I’ll be happy to re-eat again as a non-repeater of meals:
(Q1 2025) Dining places in Singapore
1) La Bottega Enoteca
We have true-bred Italian friends and have been to several Italian restaurants in Singapore (though not all), and this is one of the best places for Italian food in our books.
Prices can be quite steep depending on your budget, but the pizzas are amazing here with light, fluffy but chewy crusts! We’ll recommend to bring a few friends to try more of the menu, because this restaurant serves more than just good pizzas!
Here’s everything we ordered:
Calamari fritti
Insalata
Burratina
Orecchiette salsiccia e funghi
Fettuccine alle vongole
Gamberi alla griglia
Half magherita + half diavola pizza
Tiramisu
Cannolo siciliano
Sorbetto al limone
FFF’s recommendations:
If we were to go again, we’ll skip the desserts. We’ve had better tiramisus from non-Italian places and all the desserts we ordered were just-okay. The antipasti, secondi, pastas & pizzas were really good and we held the same expectations for desserts. Sadly, we were not too impressed.
We also recommend to make a reservation for lunch and sitting al fresco! The vibes were great and the huge ceiling fan made outdoor seating extremely comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting in daylight and watching people go by on a slow weekend afternoon.
Do note that lunch and dinner menu might differ and we have not tried their dinner menu!

2) Kotuwa
We were brought here by our friends and I have to admit, I didn’t know what to expect because I have 0 concept of Sri Lankan food. I’ll try my best to describe my experience, and if you are ethnically Sri Lankan, I hope this is not offensive, it is truly not my intention, so please pardon me!
Sri Lankan food that I’ve ate at this restaurant has flavours from Malay & Indian dishes. This is the closest representation I can share, but I do feel Sri Lankan food still stands out on its own and if you like Malay & Indian food, there is a super high chance you will love this restaurant as well!
We were mind blown when the dishes came, everything was 10/10, and we DO NOT rate this lightly at all. It was a huge catch up session with our dear friends and as everyone around me chatted away over dinner, I was busy clearing my plate over and over with several servings of everything. I know I have to go back to this restaurant again and introduce this amazing place to more people!
Here’s everything we ordered:
Lamb shank
Dallo baduma (fried calamari dish)
Gowa mal kiri hodi (cauliflower dish)
Chicken kottu
Egg hopper
Yellow rice
FFF’s recommendations:
Make a reservation because the place was packeddd on a Saturday night! & it’s well-deserving, the food is amazing, every dish was delivered to us at the same high standards.
Even if you’re not a fan of lamb, the lamb shank is still worth a try! It’s not gamey at all with fall off the bone meat. We paired the lamb shank curry with yellow rice (another super yummy dish) and it was A+!
I don’t know, everything was bomb and I had a really lovely time. The ambience indoors can be quite loud so be prepared to raise your voices if you want to be heard when chatting with your friends haha.

3) Átipico | Room #15
Where we headed for desserts right after Kotuwa at New Bahru.
Let me just say, we were so warmly hosted by the staff here, it truly added to our experience! Our friends so kindly surprised my husband (Wes) with an early birthday celebration and our host sang the birthday song so brightly for us! She was amazing, attentive & generous even though we ordered so little!
Here’s everything we ordered:
Tropical trip
Rock n roll
Iced black coffee (decaf)
FFF’s recommendations:
Both indoor and outdoor seatings were nice & vibey, my pick would be outdoors for desserts after dinner! I would gladly return to try the mains on their menu be it for lunch or dinner and share an update:)
This place was a random pick on our end, but the desserts were high quality. As I’m writing this, I did some reading up on the brand and their pastry creations are legit! Not mass-produced from a factory or third party. We’ve never seen a dessert like Tropical trip! If you’re down to try something new, you should order it and let me know if you were surprised haha.

4) Pizza Keenway
The fact that we ordered this to our home and it still made it to this list says a lot. We actually missed enjoying this in-person, fresh out of the oven at a flash tattoo event in February!
We were craving pizzas one night and we saw this on our list and could not pass the opportunity. We heard really good things about the brand and decided to try it for ourselves knowing that La Bottega makes great pizzas, and very frankly, we can make our own too.
We’ll admit that we don’t have the same skills as the chefs at Pizza Keenway HAHA, and we have no problems with that! If you’re looking for a solid pizza place for delivery to your home, or if you’re lucky, catch them at a pop-up, this is the place!
Here’s everything we ordered:
Margherita
Rami
Hawaiian
FFF recommends:
Just get any flavour you like, we’re certain they are going to taste great because the people at Keenway truly have their pizza base, crust & toppings down! It’ll also be nice to catch them at their pop-up stores, fresh is always best!
To end off our post for Q1 2025, I’m leaving you with 3 home recipes I’ve thoroughly enjoyed and am craving right now:
5) Mushroom & sausage orecchiette
6) Bak kwa fried rice
I’ll leave this to CNY 2026 as much as I’m craving this right now, but if you somehow have bak kwa in your home, this is one of my favourite ways to serve up simple fried rice at home!
7) Chicken pho
One of the best things to exist in this world, and one of the best things we’ve made at home & keep a recipe of! Noodle soup will never go wrong, especially Vietnamnese pho~
